That's more affordable

Colbey over at Cardboard Collections runs some really nice breaks as you probably already know. I missed out on the Rangers for Colbey's latest Affordable Break, but I did get them back in March.  I know what you're thinking...March?  It's May 10th.  Well, Colbey wasn't slow to ship, I'm just slow to post.

Here are a few of my favorite highlights from the break.

I keep seeing boxes of 2009 UD Signature Stars discounted at Wal-Mart, but I'm not biting.  They still cost a chunk and I'm happy with to have this Pudge from the set.

This 1999 Pacific Invincible Ivan Rodriguez looks electrified.  I with there was a font like this on my computer.

This is also from 1999 Invincible.  It's an odd little card.  That circular Juan Gonzalez is some sort of acetate disk.

I never bought a lot of Finest, but I practically got bipped by these 1996 Finest cards of Mark McLemore and Bob Tewksbury.

I think there were 4 of each of them.

This 1994 UD SP Will Clark die cut was my favorite card from the break.  Combine the sweet swing with the throwback uniform and the die cut, that's a winner in my book.

Ok, maybe this 1991 Score Jeff Kunkel was really my favorite card.  Men playing a boys game acting like kids.  That's what makes this hobby fun.

Thanks Colbey!

  1. Yes the electrified font looks cool. That was the first thing I was going to comment about was the Pudge Invincible looked cool. I too like the Kunkel card for the "being a kid", well actually for being a card with a player chewing bubble gum. Always good to see cards like that with the out of the ordinary fun shots.
