Twins win....but that's not breaking news anymore.
Wow, what a game. As I'm sure you've heard, read or blogged about yourself, the Twins won the game that ended the regular season that would not end. Aside from a World Series Game 7, I can't imagine a more nerve racking experience than playing in game 163 of a 162 game season. I'm not going to rehash the game itself. It's been done by better than little old me. Let us look ahead and tell the good boys of the Twin Cities what they've won...a matchup with the dreaded, much hated (not by everyone, I know) New York Yankees. I wanted to appeal directly to my favorite Twin, Joe Mauer, but Night Owl did that for all of us in his usual well-written manner. So I'll just toast the Twins for making the playoffs and hope they play better against the Yankees in the playoffs than they did in the regular season. As a team, the Twins hit .232 with 10 homers and 22 runs batted in. The Yankees hit .300 with 10 homers and 41 runs batted in. They'll need better numbers than that to advance to the ALCS. Hey Arod, can you please have you're normal, disappointing playoffs...PLEASE!! Good luck Twins...now I have to figure out who to root for in the National League.
I am sure that A-Rod will oblige your request! I am pulling for the Twins, but I think their victory is just making it in. Like the Rockies in 07 and the Rays in 08, making the playoffs was the big shocker-by the time they made it to the WS the team was spent. Either way, Go Twins!
ReplyDeleteDude lovin the site!!! Great job with the story...
ReplyDeletePhillies, Phillies are always a good team to root for in the NL, especially in 09! Too bad they didn't go all the way
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteWow, 2009 was another years for two teams to end the year in a tie!!
