After reading Condition Sensitive's post from yesterday, I decided to form a support group.
You see, he, like myself and a few others, fell for the Topps Vault "made for Ebay" 1/1 cards that are honestly nothing more than a money grab.
I posted my purchase a while back. It consisted of two of the artificially created 1/1 cards.
I have room in the group for others who need counseling. I know Judson from My Cardboard Habit has succumbed to the temptation. I'm sure there are others. Don't be ashamed, come on in an tell us all about your Topps Vault Ebay money grab experience.
*Disclaimer--I am not a licensed professional counselor and I DO realize that everything Topps does is a money grab!
I was looking at Topps Vault a while back and was going to buy a few items just never did it so no counseling needed well at least on this topic! lol
ReplyDeleteTo make my problem worse, the cards I bought are of guys who no longer play for the Rangers. :-/
ReplyDeleteYou don't collect rangers who aren't rangers anymore?
DeleteIf I could keep track (and afford) everything that Topps puts out, I'd probably be suckered into these, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm guilty. I picked up a 2010 Gypsy Queen Rollie Fingers Blank back for my Rollie PC. I'll totally agree about the money grab, but I regret nothing!!!!! Alright maybe a little and once bitten, twice shy just like Great White use to tell me.
ReplyDeleteCount me as one of those collectors who had no idea they even existed until I started reading the posts about them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking one for the team.
I have a few 84 Topps Vault Virdon cards. Okay, maybe more than a few. I have:
ReplyDeleteBlank Back
Black Proof
Color Proof
Blue Proof
Yellow Proof
Red Proof
The only good thing is nobody else collects him except me so I didn't bid against anyone else. I think the only way for them to get me again on an 84 Virdon is if they do a Blank Front card. (please don't read this Topps...)
Posted my AJ Ellis recently. Have a Russ Martin as well (that's BGS Slabbed, to boot) plus another from the Vault on the way.

I just grabbed myself the Charlie Morton 2013 Topps Update Topps Vault blank back. I also have a handful of 2011 Topps Heritage Blank Back Pirates cards too from the vault.
ReplyDeleteI've been tempted to purchase a few of these Topps Vault cards, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
