Remember that garage sale find I had?

Yea, I almost forgot about it too.

Well, I finally got around to listing some of the 1986 Fleer Basketball cards on Ebay.  I say some, because I still have most of them to list, but I have already recouped the $25 I spent on the tubs of cards.  For lack of anything else to post, I thought I'd update you on my "success".  These are all 1986 Fleer cards so I'll refrain from typing that for every card.

Starting off $25 in the red.

Magic Johnson sticker---99 cents.  I was a little disappointed in that, but hey, it's a start.

 $24.01 in the hole.

Dominique Wilkins----$3.18.  I have another one of these to sell because the kid had two in the same pocket of the 9 pocket page.

$20.83 to break even.

Larry Bird----$3.32.  I have another one of these to sell also.

$17.51 in the red.

Patrick Ewing rookie----$6.79.  Normally this would bring quite a bit more, but it has a crease across the upper right corner which I clearly described in my auction.

$10.72 to the break even point.

Magic Johnson----$7.00.  Not to bad and it's a great photo.

$3.72 'til I'm making money.

Karl Malone Rookie----$12.49.  Making a profit already.

$8.77 in the black.

Charles Barkley----$25.00.  I have to admit this one surprised me a bit.

Up $33.77.

Michael Jordan sticker----$42.00.  I still have another one of these to list too!

That's $75.77 up after the first 8 cards.  Of course, after Ebay fees I'm probably just breaking even ( not really, but their fees suck!).

Still, not bad for a $25 investment.  I'm going to try to get the rest of these listed this week while the playoffs are still happening.

  1. When I first started collecting back in 1986 at the ripe old age of 10, the neighborhood card shop had a box of these for 50 cents a pack. No one took them seriously because there was no "price guide" for basketball cards. I bought a few packs and, because I was 10, mishandled them for the most part. I am pretty sure I later traded the coveted Jordan rookie for a 1989 Bowman Griffey. Yeah, I don't want to think about that.

    1. @ madding D'oh!!

Those years seemed to be the 'golden years' of the NBA. Loved most of the Fleer designs up until the mid 90's. Let me know when you list that second Dominique card b/c I don't think I have it.
