Maybe there is crying in baseball

Ok, maybe just a little bit. I didn't cry when the Rangers beat the Rays tonight. I did get a little wet spot in the corner of my eye, but it was just something in my eye. Really it was. Still...

There was a play at the plate that involved Vladimir Guerrero. Very cool.

I'm glad Cliff didn't try to pick up Bengie.

I've been waiting for this moment for 30+ years.
Not a World Series win.

Not an American League Pennant.

Just to win a playoff series.

The Rangers have been waiting longer than me.

The Yankees await, but I'm going to just enjoy the Rangers victory tonight. I'll start worrying about the Yankees in a couple of days.

  1. Congrats Brian!!! You've been through quite a bit to get here--enjoy every minute!

  2. It looks like Nolan Ryan was starting to tear up a little bit when that last out was recorded. Mr. "Haymaker on Robin Ventura" and a member of the 1969 Mets...If he can shed a few tears, I can't imagine anybody feels less about you if you do, too.

I'm a Yankees fan but a baseball fan first. I was pulling for the Rays (I live in St. Pete and was hoping to see a playoff game in person), but the better team won that game tonight. The gutsy baserunning efforts, that heads-up play by Guerrero that ended in a score, it was plain to see which team wanted it more.

Good luck to your team in the ALCS.

  3. As a Rays fan I have two things to say.1st big congrats to the Rangers and 2nd please beat the Yankees.

  4. Woo-hoo for you! At least ONE of my teams made it out of the first round (the key one, too).

    Congrats and enjoy.

Then do what you can to help your guys beat the most obnoxious team with the most obnoxious fans in the history of time.

  5. Please, please, please...dispatch the Yankees.

  6. CONGRATS!!! The better team won and I am happy for you... I am officially a Rangers fan for the next couple of weeks. Beat the Yankees!!!
