Hookin' a blogger up

It's time for entry #5 in the March contest.

I can't begin to explain the difference the blogosphere has made to the enjoyment I get from this hobby. Connecting with people who have some level of passion for baseball cards has taken me back to the days when I opened my first pack of 1981 Fleer cards. The trades, the comments, the contests....it's all been a blast.

For this entry, I'm looking to give your blog a little love.

Post a comment with a link to one of your posts that got zero comments. That's all you have to do. As you look through the comments left by others for this post, maybe you can spread a little joy and comment on whatever it is they took the time to post. That's not required for the contest, but you never know what undiscovered gem you might find.

If you don't have a blog, you can still enter. Just leave a comment telling me which blog post from the comments you went and read. Easy as pie.

Thank you blogomanics.

  1. One of the most fun things I write about on my blog is The Cubicle of the Unique. It just give a little credit to those players that had long careers and were memorable, but not quite Hall of Famers.

Here is a link to my latest entry.

  3. hmmm... I looked through almost three years of comments over two blogs, and well, most of the no comment posts deserved no comment. HA!

so we'll go with this one. Comment or not, it deserves to be seen again. A Remembrance Day tribute to the fallen men and women of our armed forces.

  4. Well my blog (swinginas.blogspot.com) isn't really live yet so I'll make sure to check out all of the posts linked in this thread.

Great idea for a post, by the way.

  5. Dhoff, I hope you get some new followers from this.

Captain, thats really the point and I'll be sure to check out that post along with all the rest tonight.

  7. My blog is still quite new, here's the most recent post with no comments: http://oneoutaway.blogspot.com/2011/02/citizen-of-day.html

Oh, and Dhoff got at least one more follower in the last few minutes. Nice blog he's got there.

  8. This one did get a comment, and I've no idea how much traffic it got (it'd take digging to look it up), but I think it's probably my favorite idea that's gotten inadequate love, and I'd also like to get a few more sets of eyes on it before I do Round Two:

    Designated For Assignment: Round 1

As for some of the rest of you, I'm loving the start that Dhoff is off to, and think Nathan should go with this post, even though he's not technically live yet.

  9. Here was a post I did about the old MLB Extra Bases/NBA Jame Sessions cards. It received a well-deserved zero comments haha.

  10. This is probably my most recent post with no comments that might have been comment worthy. http://greatoriolesautographproject.blogspot.com/2011/02/unpossible-autograph-friday-two-deaths.html

Great blogs everyone, it's been a pleasure to come across a few new to me blogs.

And great idea for a post!

  11. I just posted this yesterday and no one commented...which is a shame because I think the photos are hilarious.

  12. This is from fairly early in my blogging, so it didn't get many reads. It's a look at some of my memorabilia cards and what I like/dislike about them.

  22. Great idea!

Here's one of my oldest posts (2009) that didn't get any love. It's amusing because I was just staring at my wall hanging today thinking I really ought to update the cards displayed in it!

  24. I decided to show off my other cardboard collection: golf score cards from courses I've played. I didn't get any comments on my initial post, but I still like showing them off.

    By the by, great contest.

  25. I got a shock just now when I looked for posts without a comment. I can't believe it but in the last year almost all my posts had comments. That's a big shock because it wasn't always the case and I can remember times where I posted 10 times in a row without a comment. Maybe i need to write more posts...

So here is one from the last year that I can't believe didn't get a single comment.

  30. I don't get a lot of views every day - less than 10 most of the time - and only a few comments - but I'd love to hear people's thoughts on a concept I wrote up this weekend. The first post (yesterday's) is here: http://thiscardiscool.blogspot.com/2011/03/if-i-were-choosing-relics-part-1-of-5.html

  33. I'm sure it's just my ego, but I think I have some really good, clever moments in my posts, and most of those jokes never get mentioned. Hopefully they're not for naught. Most of the stuff that go commentless are the trade posts and cards from our collection posts. Sometimes our reviews get no love as well, but I think that's because we're slow. This is an early feature that I'd go back to if I had photoshop. I was thinking of posting a "will (you) work for cards?" post to get help. Not the best writing, but still hoping to drum up support:

  34. I still have no idea why this post didn't get a single comment:

    http://thevintagesportscards.blogspot.com/2011/01/errors-and-variations.html

Since I occasionally show proof that I'm not anally retentive about condition...perhaps I've gotten readers mixed up when I post an entry that explicitly deals with condition.

  35. Well since I've escaped I started a new blog about some crappy ball teams and what to expect from them. Just ignore that Big Kahuna guy's blog and toy with mine instead!

  38. Well, my blog is pretty new. It still has that new blog smell.

    *inhales deeply*

None of my posts have gotten any comments, probably because I am not out "marketing" it. Speaking of marketing, here is a link to a post of mine about a minor league promotion:

    http://cardboardcatastrophes.blogspot.com/2011/02/god-as-my-witness-i-thought-turkeys.html

That post isn't about cards, but I have some posts about cards and I am starting work on post about all the pornstaches in 1978 Topps.
