Let that be a lesson to all you young collectors

Do not, and I mean DO NOT, allow the cards you receive in trades, purchase from wherever or pull from boxes build up until you have six 800 count boxes waiting to be sorted and removed from your wantlists.

Procrastination will take the joy right out of this hobby.  (Even though knocking lots of cards off your wantlists will put the joy right back.)

I've got one more box to sort and check off the lists and I should have updated lists up and I'll be happy again!

Not to mention the slew of packages that I'll be mailing on Friday.

Until then...

  1. Here's another lesson. When you get cards knocked off of your wantlists, go ahead and put them in the sets with the rest of the cards. Don't set them aside for a couple months, lose them, make a list of the cards you thought you had but can't find, and then lose that list. My organization is horrible.

  2. PROcrasti-what?

OH that, I do that all the time. I don't plan on it and I don't really like doing it but I'm a lazy slob so it kind of comes with the territory... Oh look a serial numbered gold parallel.

  3. Can that really be learned? In my case, no. I do it all the time. Then I need two days off to figure it all out.

  4. And another lesson: don't bother trying to decide where the Mantle rookie card goes - HOF binder, rookie binder, high end binder, vintage binder.... it's all too much. Send it to me and your worries will be reduced.

  5. Looking at cards is so much more fun than sorting them :(

  6. If you buy a couple packs of Topps Series 1 and 2 every few days, they tend to add up. I probably have a full set somewhere on my desk, but I wouldn't know it. They're all mixed in with cards from other sports, other brands, other years, the very similar-looking Opening Day, and also with each other.

  7. I don't know what you guys are talking about. I love sorting cards. Of course, I'm so thrilled to eliminate cards from my want list that I practically do it as soon as I pull the cards out of the package.

    1. I do too...most of the time. I have a couple of issues that I will highlight on my next post.

  9. Not only that, if you procrastinate like me you are constantly confusing who gave you what.
