One of the things that immediately captured my attention when I stumbled across the card blogging community was the trade posts. I hadn't traded since I was a kid and even that was ruined as I mentioned last post. After reading multiple trade posts, I knew I had to get involved. One of the things that struck me was that many people were more concerned with getting what they wanted than they were about making sure the trade was "even" based on value. Hello, that was what killed trading for me in the first place. I'm not suggesting that people are out there trading on card autos for 91 Donruss cards, but it's more about the trade than the value which is great. The first two bloggers I contacted about trades were Night Owl and Beardy and it was so much fun, I couldn't stop. I'd like to list all the people of traded with right now, but I know I would leave someone out. I promise I'll get to all of you when I'm able to scan the cards. I get a kick out of seeing the cards I've mailed out posted on someone's blog and when it is something they really like or need, then all the better. Here is a picture to give you an idea how many trades I've done so far:
So, how about a little contest. I love contests and have won a few, but this will be my first. Here's what you don't have to do and what you do have to do to win. You don't have to announce the contest or link to it on your blog unless you want to. You don't have to be a follower of my blog unless you want to. You don't have to point out that I end a lot of my sentences with prepositions. You don't have to guess the exact score of game 7 of this year's World Series. You do have to enter a comment stating how many trade packages are in this picture. This is every trade package I've received so far. Each person gets one guess. Every person who guesses correctly will be entered in a random drawing and the winner will get 5 unopened retail packs of 2009 Goodwin goodness and a little something extra from their favorite team. I'll leave the contest open until I get to work Sunday night...so don't wait, guess today! Good luck!
