I won twice, you could win once...the February Contest

I know some people never get lucky enough to win a contest.  Some people get so lucky they win twice.

I was one of those people recently when The Diamond King did his annual 7 day giveaway.  I won the Day 1 Giveaway which was a base set of 2007 Masterpieces and a load of vintage AND the Day 2 Giveaway which was even more vintage cards.

Just to remind you what was at stake, here is the Day 1 prize (minus the Masterpieces set).

Here are the Day 2 vintage cards I won.

I told The Diamond King that I felt bad winning two prizes so I was going to give some of this vintage greatness away myself.  I'm definitely keeping the Carl Yastrzemski 1968 Topps Game insert and the 1970 Topps cards for my birth year set.  I'll probably keep a few others, but I'm going to send the randomized winner a good chunk of these vintage goodies OR the 2007 Masterpieces base set.

All you have to do is leave a comment indicating whether you prefer vintage or Masterpieces and in a couple of days I'll use random.org to pick a winner.

Good luck!

  2. Congratulations on your winnings.

Big fan of UD Masterpieces... but I'm a bigger fan of vintage.

  3. 2007 Masterpieces,
If it was 2008 I'd go Vintage!

Though The Yaz & Lynn are sweet

  6. Nice Wins I like both but for different reason I like the vintage because it takes me back to being a kid and when there was only the one set to complete. Masterpiece and the current stuff I like to get autographed. So as I already have some of the vintage I'd probably go with the set. Thanks for the contest. Dion

  9. You could send me all those 64s and I would come over and mow your lawn, even if there was snow all over it.

In fact, I would shovel the snow, then get on my hands and knees. I would proceed to warm up the grass with my breath until it started to grow. At that point, I would pull out a pair of Kamisori Damascus Emerald shears (http://www.myhairstylingtools.com/Kamisori-Damascus-Emerald-Shears_p_2667.html) and hand cut each single blade to an exacting standard and length determined by you.

    Just a thought....

Oh you have an Evil Contest here. I love both, but I have to go Vintage Vintage Vintage. Viva La Vintage!

  12. Hi there!

    Vintage, please. Thanks.

  13. Cool.. Thanks for the contest! If you're running concurrent contests for both, I'd go with the Masterpieces since almost everybody is picking vintage, giving me a statistical edge. But if it's only one drawing, then I gotta go with vintage too!

  14. Vintage. Are there any other kinds of cards?

  15. Even though I'm a Pads fan, and our vintage only dates back to 1969, I'd take vintage anytime. Mucho Thanks.

  16. I'm down to needing 12 cards to finish my '76 set... and there are five of them in your pic, so I'm going vintage. But newer vintage. Like bicentennial vintage.

  17. Holy crap Day 7 had some awesome vintage in it. A Molitor rookie and sophmore cards of Yount, Jackson, and Brett. Wow. I'd have to say I'd enjoy the vintage more, but since noone wants the Masterpieces I'd take that.

  18. Vintage. Unless it's the Stroke of Genius Masterpieces autos of Kemp or Russell Martin, and then I lean that way.

Unless it's like a Koufax RC we're talking about.

    But yeah, VINTAGE.

  19. Vintage, of course. I have a number of those, but there are a few that have been elusive.
