Sending out an SOS

I'm scheduling this a couple of days in advance, but right about now, my wife should be rolling back to the OR for a little surgery. I say little, but I'm not the one on the gurney.

It's nothing too big, but surgery is surgery and it is her head after all (supposed to help with her migraines). If you're the praying type, I think we could both use a prayer right now.

One of our friends died a couple of days ago at the age of 34. His wife couldn't wake him and that was that. Another couple we know is suffering a double whammy. The husband is nearing the end of his battle with cancer and his wife just found out she too has cancer. They're not even 40 yet and have three kids under the age of 12.

I said all that to say this; you never know what might be coming your way and this surgery has both of us nervous. It's not a major thing, but you just never know.

I've got a post scheduled for later today, but otherwise I may not be around until Monday.

Thanks!

  3. I too suffer from migraines, but only occasionally (1 every 1-1/2 to 2 months or longer now) I can't imagine how bad they'd be to need surgery! (the few I get are bad enough!). Glad everything went well, and I'm really saying a prayer that the surgery did what it was intended to do...

  6. Glad to hear everything went well.

I lost three former co-worker friends a few years ago within the span of three months, all in their early 40s - don't take anything for granted.

  14. Thanks again for all your well wishes. My wife is recovering well, if a little slower than we hoped. She should be back to normal in later this week.
