The bulk of this post was originally titled "The Impossible Five". It was about the five Rangers DDC cards I still needed.
I was able to add another of the Texas Ranger Diamond Die Cut cards to my portfolio without even entering a code. That gives me a total of four Rangers DDC cards.
So far I have these four cards.
Nelson Cruz. I unlocked a Colby Rasmus DDC and someone offered me the Cruz for it. It didn't take long for me to make the decision to accept the offer.
Neftali Feliz. I unlocked a Dan Haren DDC and offered it for every DDC Ranger on the board. The trade that was accepted netted me the Feliz.
Ian Kinsler. The third DDC I currently have came via a double trade. Hoping to help out another blogger, I offered the Clay Buchholz I unlocked for a Kevin Youkilis. The person I was trying to help didn't get the trade in time, but someone else did. Someone then offered me the Kinsler for the Youk and I took it.
This Michael Young DDC came via another double trade late last night. Someone offered me a Jimmy Rollins DDC card for one of my vintage cards. I thought it about it for about 10 seconds and then accepted, knowing there was a good chance I could turn the Rollins into a Ranger pretty quickly. I made the offer and Young was mine in a matter of minutes.
That leaves four Texas Ranger DDC cards I still need. I'm going to have to get extremely lucky to unlock anymore DDC cards to trade. Here are the five I still need.
Vladimir Guerrero. He homered the other day when Baltimore was playing Texas. The Ranger's fans gave him a standing ovation. It helped that the Rangers still had a 5 run lead.
Adrian Beltre.
Josh Hamilton. I wonder where his head is at today after the events of last night.
Last, but not least, Nolan Ryan. I have a feeling it's going to take another DDC Legend to get my hands on this card.
That's all for now. I'm hoping I'll get someone else to offer another DDC for one of my non-stellar vintage cards. I'll make that trade in a heartbeat.
I have to say I don't envy the team collectors with these things. Especially if they go after the black diamond versions, too (which I personally would).
ReplyDeleteGood thing you still have Update to cash in more codes

I still can't believe I missed out on that Buchholz. Oh well, glad it netted you a Ranger (like I said it would!)
ReplyDeleteWhat I did last year with MCG to guarantee a trade to a certain TRUSTWORTHY person was to offer a common card for a great card. Then he offered the same common card back for the card he wanted. The trade either gets your original trade complete OR you turn a common into a great card from someone else and start over.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting the rest...I have yet to get a single Rockie DDC (no one wanted Vernon Wells), but I did unlock a 56 Tiger that I might be able to get one with.
i have the Beltre die-cut in my portfolio. i'll take any other diamond for it. what's your username so I know to accept it?
