Play at the Plate, 2 by 3 Heroes, My Cardboard Mistress, Night Owl Cards, The Chronicles of Fuji, We Should Be GMs, The Daily Dimwit, Indians Baseball Cards are among my favorite reads. And apparently, I commented on Sports Card Info's contest posts 327 times last year!!
Shlabotnik Report, Shoebox Legends, Wrigley Wax, but my blog list is long and I read most of them on a regular basis. I kind of hate singling them out. It's the depth and variety that makes this such a great community.
I agree with Hackenbush: this community is pretty great and there are many writing styles and feature which make for some really enjoyable reading. Here's a handful that come to mind: A) Baseball Card Breakdown's Refraction Action cards B) Torren Up Cards' Star Wars posts C) Dime Box Nick's ability to see beauty in virtually every card D) 2x3 Heroes' posts which slip in a picture of that Kate Upton person E) Nachos Grande's Better Know a Blogger series
There are honestly too many to name. I always check out Dodger Penguin, Plaschke, They Sweater is Argyle, Nick's Dime Boxes, Baseball Card Breakdown, and ...all the way to the backstop just to name a few.
"Must-read" has become a casualty of time. I hate admitting this but I breeze through a lot of blogs now. When A Cardboard Problem posts, I'll stop and read that. Play At the Plate, too (do I get extra point for that?). Cardboard Junkie. What's it say that all the blogs I've mentioned are only sporadic posters?
I don't have any must reads...I just check my blog roll and go with my mood at the time. I'm a sucker for witty blog post titles and any card that catches my eye in the preview window. Favorite blogs are the same as most of you - the King and the Prince of writing. I think you all know who I mean....
I pretty much try to read all of the blogs on my blog roll as often as possible. I don't think I have any favorites right now - as The LEGO Movie would say, Everyone is Awesome!
I'm with Stealing Home - I'll jump on the blogroll a couple times a day and hit a post that seems interesting. And when I get to the blog, I'll check out the side panel and if a post there catches my eye, I click through.
I don't really have any "must-reads." Like Jeff said, I'll usually just scroll through my blogroll when I get some time and see what catches my eye. I probably read through a good 15-20 posts a day.
Dime Boxes and Night Owl are the two I've followed the longest, but more recently I've found myself clicking through to Nachos Grande and $30 A Week Habit quite frequently, as well as my trading partners like A Cracked Bat, Bob Walk the Plank, All The Way To the Backstop, It's Like Having My Own Card Shop, The Junior Junkie, and several others.
Outside the card world I make sure to read Seth Godin's blog, Atlantic's In Focus photojournalism blog, and Raptitude, which focuses on "getting better at being human".
I read whatever shows up on my blogroll, and then when I am reading other people's posts I will click on anything interesting I see in their blogrolls.
I read everything. Fuji and Night Owl were some of the originals, but I read and comment on most that are on my blogroll. I'm very loyal to all the blogs that I trade with.
I'm the least focused person ever and I mostly just hit the Sports Card Blogroll when the mood strikes and check out recent posts that look interesting. I've been keeping up with a fair number of blogs just doing that and being around fairly regularly again after disappearing for most of 2014. I did try to catch a lot of what Heartbreaking Cards, Night Owl, Fuji, Cardboard Junkie, Shot Not Taken, and a couple others had to say even while I wasn't paying much attention to the blogosphere as a whole.
I follow the blogroll comments but 1 blog ( besides 2x3 Heroes ) I have been into is http://tanmanbaseballfan.blogspot.com/ or 6,000,000 and counting. He is making his own cards and the latest batch of star wars are amazing..
I pretty much read down my blog roll and click on things that catch my eye. I usually find myself reading Dime Box, Chavez Ravining, 2 by 3 Heroes, and your blog more often.
Every blog on my blogroll are must read to me. If I haven't added one yet it is most likely because I never have seen it or it didn't interest me at the time. I often search for new blogs though as it inspires me to write better posts.
If I had to single specific ones out they would be Bob Walk The Plank, A Cracked Bat, and Night Owl most often. My best friend just started one called Talkin' Truman that I read every time he posts as well.
There are a lot of blogs I nearly always read (on a slow day at work, I'll read like 40-50 posts), but for my answer I'll say Baseball Card Vandals. Funny stuff. And even if I'm tight on time, it's always a very quick read.

ReplyDeleteI used to have a ton, but my computer/free time has all but disappeared. Night Owl is king. I stop by at least once every couple of days to catch up.

I try to read blog posts that catch my eye. I read probably 5 or 10 times as many posts as I commented on.
ReplyDeleteForced to pick a couple, I'd say Nick's Dime Boxes and Night Owl.
I do my best to read every post on my blogroll, unless I am just 100% not interested in the topic. I do rarely miss Night Owl's stuff though.
ReplyDeleteI try to go through my entire blogroll. Too many great blogs out there to just name one or two.
ReplyDeleteAnything that's in my feed I read, though some I skim more than others. Fuji is one that I almost always read fully.
ReplyDeleteI read whatever shows up on my blogroll, and then when I am reading other people's posts I will click on anything interesting I see in their blogrolls.
ReplyDeleteCards: My Cardboard Mistress

My main 2 are Too Many Manninghams for the Michigan content and 2x3 Heroes for the White Sox content but there are many more that I check daily.
