Scattershooting, while wondering whatever happened to Hank Blalock.
A little randomness for today, if you'll indulge me.
I was saddened yesterday to read about the Russian hockey team that died in the tragic plane crash in Western Russia. I know a number of people who have traveled in that part of the world and they all say they would rather walk across Russia than fly on one of their airlines.
Before I heard about the hockey team, I turned on the radio yesterday just in time to hear Ian Kinsler tie the game against Tampa Bay with a homerun in the top of the 9th inning. Unfortunately, Mark Lowe gave up a homerun to Desmond Jennings in the bottom of the 10th inning. On his first freakin' pitch. The Rays won, the Angels won, and the Rangers lead is back down to 2 1/2 games.
The responses to the "Long Awaited, Comprehensive Rangers Wantlists" posts have been great. I avoided compiling a master wantlist for the Rangers for a long time because in all honesty, it was a lot of work. I mean a lot of W.O.R.K. If you've ever done it,you know what I mean. It was all worth it though. In the two weeks since I posted the Topps portion of the wantlists, I've already had over 1000 cards "knocked" off the lists. Those aren't all in my possession yet, but they are pending. Of course, that brings up another issue. Marking all those cards as pending is another big task to keep up with and I have to say that while I've tried, I know I haven't been completely successful in doing it. I am going to try to keep up with the wantlists and mark cards off soon after I receive them.
I've been swamped in trades recently. I've actually had to ask a couple of people to hold off until next week before I can even look for stuff for them. If you're one of them, I appreciate your patience. If I commented about a card on one of your posts or you did the same on one of my posts and you haven't heard from me, please send me an email. I'm bad about letting potential deals slip through the cracks when I have a lot of stuff going on.

Lord help me if the post office shuts down next year!
I watched a live break by The Daily Dimwit yesterday on UStream. That was my first time to do that and it was quite an enjoyable experience. The ability to interact with Sam and comment on the cards as they came up was fun and I hope to get to see another live break soon.
Alright, that's enough for now. I know some of you have bought some new Chrome cards. I want to see them!
I know what you mean. It took me a while to compile my Team Set Master list too.
ReplyDeletesweet! Thanks! Your package left via sled dog this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteoh, it's "eh", not "hey"... damn Texan...
