Although I am pulling for the Rays, I have to unbiasedly state that the strike zone was not awful. At first, I thought the Ump was blind, until I realized it was the camera angle. Most stadium center field cameras are closer to center, but it seemed like the Ranger-cam was more towards left-center. I'd think dang, that was a STRIKE, but then someone hit it right up the middle and the ball went to the left on my TV screen. Bad camera angle!
Doc, after watching more of the game I realize he was calling it the same for both pitchers, but I was judging based on the pitchtrax or whatever that thing is called that shows the pitch in relation to the strike zone. Most of it was frustration at the Rangers inability to do anything against a pitcher making his 2nd big league start. I prefer a big strike zone as long as it's called the same for both teams, which I think it was.
It doesn't change the fact that Wilson sucked today, buy that Homeplate ump sucks too. That strike zone is awful.
ReplyDeleteWon't matter if Texas can't come back. A loss is a loss no matter the cause.
