  2. Has to be Mariano Rivera's last Topps base card...the one where he is jogging in from the bullpen. Just a very nice, fitting last card.

  9. I think I was happiest with just about any Stadium Club base card. It's been a long time since I could claim such excitement over base cards. If I had to pick one, I think I'd go with the Big Papi Stadium Club selfie with Obama.

  10. My favorite card was the Troy Tulowitzki SP from 2014 Topps Archives. It is thus far the only Rockies player to be depicted on 1986 Topps, my favorite set ever. Well the only Rockies player depicted on a set not made by me anyways.

  11. Off the top of my head, I'd say Nolan Ryan's 2014 Stadium Club base card. Not everyday you see a horse and a stable on a baseball card.

  12. 2014 Topps Mark DeRosa. Where he's catching the football.

  13. I don't own one yet, but my favorite card was the Topps Update All-Star card of Anthony Rizzo, US98.

It's a nice candid shot of him enjoying the homerun derby.

  14. The Shigeo Nagashima autographed card from the Treasures set that was issued last year here in Japan. I held one in my hands yesterday although I don't own one!

  15. 2014 Series One Dee Gordon. Fantastic bunt shot.

  16. Tough one.

The Gattis Stadium Club card is pretty epic. The Taveras "Take A Bow" card from Update might be the most timing-appropriate card ever made.

Those would be my vote (I can't pick one over the other).

Logan Thomas Patch Auto #/49 from a box of 2014 Flair Showcase. Pulling a hit from your team is awesome. Pulling a case hit of the one player you collect in the product is incredible.

  18. My favorite was a 2014 Topps card of Jeremy Hellickson. Nothing special about the card for most people, but for me it's special because I hadn't bought baseball cards in over 15 years. This past summer I decided to get back into the hobby, pulled that card out of a pack and just a few days later I was fortunate to meet him and have him sign it for me.

  21. I love the B.J. Raji 2014 Topps card. What's not to love about a gigantic dude flying through the air to drill a QB?

  27. My favorite card of the year is Andrew Cashner's Bowman card (hometown parallel). It has three things that I love: favorite current player, throwback uniform (90's), and the Texas flag in the background.

My favorite non-Padre card of the year was Chris Denorfia's update card, for which I have the acetate parallel (/10).

  29. Weirdly, I'd say it was the 2014 Topps Max Scherzer Sparkle short print, because I pulled it in the first new card purchase that I made in over 25 years.

  32. The first one I could thing of was this quad relic (my first one) given to me from a contest on Bob Walk The Plank. Its a 2014 Topps Museum Collection 4-Piece relic featuring Ian Kinsler, Yu Darvish, Elvis Andrus, and Adrian Beltre. Here's a link for an idea of the card: http://www.comc.com/Cards/Baseball/2014/Topps_Museum_Collection_Four-Player_Primary_Pieces_Quad_Relics/PPFQR-23/Elvis_Andrus_Yu_Darvish_Adrian_Beltre_Ian_Kinsler/7291968
