What's up Dock?

Like many of you out there in Blogoland, I was Zippy Zapped just in time for Christmas.  I know most of you feel the same way, but there's nothing quite like getting the unexpected package in the mail.  It's so much fun and with Ken, aka Torren Up Cards, you know you're going to get some cards you like.

I could have scanned more, but I didn't for two reasons.

1.  No scanner, these are Iphone pics.

2.  See #1.

Before I go describing the cards I received, I have to point out the binder (or portion thereof) that you can see as my backdrop.  Our local Wally World had a bunch of Rangers stuff marked down and I picked up the only two one inch binders.  I would love to house all my Rangers in these, but they wanted way to much for them before clearance and I don't want to know how many one inch binders it would take to house the whole collection.

First up is a little Michael Young.  By little, I mean the 1987 Topps Mini knockoff that Topps reissued as an insert in 2012.

There was another mini in there as well, but I had to get in a little closer to this shiny 2013 Bowman Chrome Jurickson Profar.

We also have a bit o' gold.  This Gronk is the gold parallel from 2001 is #1288/2001.  Only 2000 more copies and I can have them all!!!

The highlight of the pack was this 1979 Dock Ellis.  Dock was coming off a 9-7 year for the Rangers. More importantly, by reading the back of this card I learned what happened in baseball on May 10, 1909.  Do you know...?  Do ya?

Well, I'll tell ya.  Fred Toney hurled a 17-inning no-hitter for Winchester of the Blue Grass League.

And now you know, the rest of the story.....Good Day!

(Oh yea, thanks for the cards Kenny)
