The Tampa Bay Rays signed former Texas Ranger Hank Blalock to a minor league deal and he reported to Rays training camp on Tuesday. Hank Blalock is only 29 years old and should have some good baseball left in him if his body will cooperate. Injuries have limited Blalock to 246 games over the last three seasons.
2006 Flair Showcase Hank Blalock Jersey sent from the Troll.
The deal is worth a reported $925,000 with up to $350,000 in incentives and includes an opt-out clause for Blalock if he doesn't make the 25-man roster and another team wants him.
I hope Hank catches on with the Rays and has a monster year. Except when the Rays and Rangers are playing.
Good luck Hank!!
It's low risk/high reward signing. Like you said, hopefully he'll stay healthy and return to form!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how young Blalock was... I like the signing and I would much rather have him at DH than Pat the Bat. Like CCC said, it is a low risk signing and Blalock will do anything to prove he aint done yet
