First off, get your mind out of the gutter. If it wasn't in the gutter, I apologize for sending it there by bringing it up.
You may recall my self-imposed ban on card purchases for the month of October. I made an executive decision that I wouldn't apply the ban to group breaks, but I have resisted buying any packs or blasters.
I almost gave in yesterday. I don't know why I did it, but I walked down the card aisle at Wal-Mart and they had a bunch of blasters of 2011 Bowman Chrome. I picked one up, looked at it and then set it back on the shelf.
My first thought was, "Oooh, new stuff!"
My second thought was, "I don't even like Bowman Chrome."
I'm not a prospector by any means, but the card addict in me likes new stuff, so I picked up the blaster again. I looked it over. I read the fine print. I laughed.
7 packs (+ the ever present FREE BONUS PACK for a total of eight packs!) of three cards. That's 24 cards for $20 + tax.
I don't think so.
I think I'll continue with the ban on buying this month. It's not like I don't have some Rangers baseball to distract me!
Go Rangers!!
Good job staying on the wagon.
ReplyDeleteLOL - you and me were fighting the same fight yesterday. i was holding boxes in my hands too. still got that dinero in my pocket today !! ;)
ReplyDeleteGood thing that moratorium on baseball buying doesn't extend to awesome '90s group breaks! -Andy
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing display of willpower. I've cutback on pack busting myself... instead the money gets spent on COMC. Best of luck on your ban... and I would say goodluck to your Rangers... but I think I'm going to pull for the Cards.
