No way! I'm not done, just taking a breather.
I followed last week's conference out of state with Spring Break this week. I took the last three days off and it was nice to do nothing (except the yard work my wife has wanted to start for the last month.) I spent part of last night catching up on blogs and still have more catching up to do. I forgot how hard it is to keep current on the blog, both reading and posting, when I'm not at work. I know, you feel real sorry for me right now.
Over that last two weeks, I've received about 6 packages, so hopefully I can get some scanning done today and have some actual pics to show through the weekend.
While you wait for content, let me ask a question. Maybe one of you more knowledgeable bloggers can help me out.
I like commenting. I like "subscribing" to the comments so I can see comments others make or responses from the blog writer. This new commenting format Blogger is using is really hindering my ability to do that. A few blogs still have the "subscribe by email" option at the end of the post. Many other blogs, where I used to check a box if I wanted follow up comments emailed to me, don't have the check box anymore and I don't see any of those comments or answers anymore. Is it just me or is this a problem for other people too. Is there a way to add that "subscribe by email" link at the bottom of the comment section?
I don't like change (unless it's new cards) and this new Blogger stuff is really cramping my style.
I don't have any answer for you but it's annoying me too. I keep leaving comments on various blogs and I'm lucky if 25% of them actually still show up when I return to the blog. Maybe I need to always select the "subscribe" option if available? Your blog, for instance, doesn't give me that option - at least not on the "leave comment" page where I am right now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, same here. I would like to see if somebody replied to me on any of the comments I make but after I post them I have no idea where to look.
ReplyDeleteBlogger needs a tracking system.
It took me several days to figure out... but here's what I think I did.
ReplyDeleteStep 1: Go to your blogger settings page.
Step 2: Find the "comments" tab and click on it.
Step 3: Scroll down to the part where it say "Comment Form Placement" and select "Embedded below post".
Hope this works for you.
I don't know why, but Nachos Grande commented on this post earlier, but it didn't show up. He said that was a problem with his commenting of late.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Fuji for those directions!
No problemo :D
DeleteI've been bookmarking pages when I comment and checking back for a day or 2 to see if there is any response. If there isn't one, I delete the bookmark.
ReplyDeleteIt's annoying as hell to do but none of the e-mails come to me anymore when I comment on someone else's blog.
I found one of Nachos Grande's comments from about a month ago in my spam comments. I responded to it but I don't know if he received it. His comments might be getting marked as spam, that's why they aren't showing up.
Blog titles like that are so sneaky.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad in hindsight. Sort of.
