March Contest: The final entry

I just got back from a week long conference in another state. I'm tired. I'm just glad to be home.

I don't need anything too stressful for this last entry. Leave a comment about your favorite team. It can be anything related to your team.

I'll try to randomize this thing for tomorrow, but it may have to wait for Monday.

Thanks for all the entries everyone.

  1. Not my fav overall, but the 2004 Boston Red Sox...They needed that year in the worst sort of way.

  2. The Dodgers should be playing Jerry Sands everyday, and should have traded James Loney and Andre Ethier LONG ago.

  3. Great I have to talk about my fave team. Which Sport? ;) OK since this is a Baseball blog you got here my Fave team is the Washington Sen.er Nationals (I also like the Orioles but the Nats are my fave) Even though last season the Nats technically had a loosing season (they were one postponed/canceled game away from .500) I was still proud of how they did. The managed to get into 3rd place in the Eastern Division where they usually reside in the basement at 4th place, or more often the cellar in 5th. They have a few hot pitchers now and in their farm system hopefully they can get some bats to give run support to guys like Strasburg and eventually Harper. In a few years these guys could be contenders.

  4. The Bravos have the best pitching in baseball................ but can they hit enough?
Shortstop is a big concern right now. But at least SeaBass is gone.

  5. The Red Sox home Fenway park celebrates it 100th birthday this year, it opened the same week the RMS Titanic sank.

  6. I saw my first Cubs action of the year today on good old WGN. A nice 5-1 win over the White Sox. I didn't find Hawk and Stoney as annoying as I usually do. Bonus!

  7. I hope Tony Campana can make the Cubs roster out of Spring Training this year!

Not expecting much out of them in 2012, but I think they might surprise a few teams in the NL Central.

  8. Adam Wainwright is back! Repeat: Adam Wainwright is back!

  10. 2011-12 Winnipeg Jets
They came back home after 15 long years - Season Tickets sold out after just 7 minutes.

  11. The Reds should put Aroldis Chapman in AAA until he can be a productive starter.

  12. You were at a week-long conference in another state, so you missed my latest comment about my favorite team:

Every once in awhile I try to imagine being a fan of a different team. Even for those few seconds, I feel deprived, of a colorful history, of a franchise with decades of character, of all of its successes. I know that sounds terribly patronizing and superior, but I think this is one area where that's allowed. I think I root for the best damn sports team that has ever existed. In fact, I know I do. The greatness of the Dodgers pays no mind.

    There you go.

  13. The Orioles will stink again this year. Not much else to say.

  14. The Mets have to hope that this Valley Fever thing with Ike Davis resolves itself VERY quickly without causing any problems for Davis.

  15. 2011 Memphis Redbirds... yup, AAA. ;)

  16. I really hope the Rockies trade or release Esmil Rogers before Spring Training ends. He will give me ulcers if he is in the bullpen this year.

  17. Hello!, Really? Duh, it's like, in my blog title...
    Dawgbones, a PHILLIES Phan!
You know I was born a Phillies Phan only because I could not root for them any earlier!!
I really enjoyed the 2011 season, right up til the bitter end, 102 wins, let's go get em, boys!!

  18. I feel really bad for David Wright. He does everything the right way and is getting crapped on by the whole mets situation.

  19. my poor, poor Mets. i think we can have a decent year, though. you know why? 'cause it's MARCH! ya gotta believe!

  20. The Yankees are doing their Spring Training in Tampa, which is a short 20 minutes from where I happen to live.

But I'm too busy with work to see them.

  21. The Tribe will be playing in the 2012 World Series ! But I say that about this time every year.

  23. The Royals won the division in 1977 by going 34-4 from Aug 17th - Sept. 25th. Ah..back in the day...

  24. I get the feeling it is going to be a long painful season here in great northwest. We didn't do too much to improve and your Rangers and the Angels did plenty. A few more wins and staying ahead of Oakland will be a positive this year.

  25. The Astros are awesome... and Carlos Lee STILL SUCKS!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. mariano rivera will hopefully shine in his last season as a yankee and come away with his last ring !

    ReplyDelete
  27. Frank McCourt will be gone soon. That is a good thing. The Dodgers should be throwing cash money around very soon. I am optimistic about the Dodgers future.

  28. The new commercial for MLB2k12 or whatever game where the Cubs win the World Series and the guy cries. Yeah, I would totally cry too, if it was real, and not a game.

  29. I like the face Michael Pineda makes when he pitches.

  30. Tigers look pretty great this year. I haven't seen a game of Spring Training, but they've been amazing, I hear. Can't wait to see Prince in the old English D.

  31. I hope there's more to talk about this season with the Braves other than Chipper's potential departure from baseball at the end of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Braves comment: No injuries, pleeeaazze! Don't flame out Kimbrel! We need yooouu!
