Two firsts

The Rangers managed to pull off two firsts in yesterday's amazing ALCS game 2 win over Detroit.

First, they had their first ever walk off win in a post season game. Of course, there isn't a lot of post season history for the Rangers, but it was still a thrilling moment.

Nelson Cruz's grand slam in the bottom of the 11th inning was one of the most exciting things to ever happen at the Ballpark in Arlington. It was also the first walk off grand slam in MLB playoff history. Coming on the heels of his game winning homer in game 1 and the game tying homer he hit earlier in the game, it was just incredible. You know Leyland and the Tigers did not want to see Cruz up there in that situation.

After the team celebrated the 7-3 win, a Fox reporter interviewed a freshly "pied" Nelson Cruz. I had to explain to my wife what it was and why the players did it. She thought it was funny. I was just glad it was appropriate.

Go Rangers!!
