What do Dennis Rodman and Two Wicked Yankees Have in Common

Wicked Ortega of course! Wicked aka Al of My Past Time...I Love It! fame had some weekend giveaways recently and I was lucky enough to win one of them. I had to guess his favorite NBA player and as luck would have it, it was Dennis Rodman. The prize was two 8X10 autos of some 1960s era Yankees.

Stan Bahnsen was the 1968 A.L. Rookie of the Year. You might get that from the inscription on the auto. That makes it extra cool by the way. Bahnsen played a total of 16 years for the Yankees, White Sox, A's, Expos, Angels and Phillies. He appeared in 574 games (327 starts) going 146-149 with a 3.60 ERA and 1,359 Ks.

Bobbby Richardson has a great auto. He played 12 years, all with the Yankees. He had 1,432 hits, 390 RBIs and a .266 average. He was a 5x All-Star, a 5x Gold Glove Winner and was fortunate enough to play in 7 different World Series. He was a part of 4 W.S. Champions and as you can see from the cool inscription, he was the 1960 W.S. MVP.

I wouldn't hang on to an auto of a current Yankee longer than it took to trade or sell it, but these are different. They are sort of like vintage cards...maybe not your favorite team, but still cool to have.

Thanks Al, for a great contest and your continued great generosity!

  1. Ha, I'm posting a Bobby Richardson auto today, too. What are the odds?
