Not long ago, I shared the results of my Diamond Giveaway delivery, including the backordered 1971 Dick Such.
Here, in all it's glory, is my 1971 Dick Such.
It has 4 rough corners, but fills a need in my Senators wantlist so I don't care.
You know you're not getting any run support when you put up a 2.81 ERA and go 0-16. That stat line is the only one Such would have in the majors. He played in 21 games going 1-5 with a 7.56 ERA. It's too bad his career was so short, I could have been chasing a bunch of Suchs.
That York team had an OBP of .302 and a SLG of .276 as a team. That Eastern League was a big time pitchers league (teams scored 3.24 runs per game), but still York was especially awful.
ReplyDeleteany post related to this guy just makes me smile...
ReplyDeleteHi, I liked your blog and I invite you ...
ReplyDeleteAh, never mind. Just wanted to say how does Topps put a low-numbered '71 on backorder?
Wow 0-16 unreal and with a 2.81 ERA that is almost unreal to think about.
