Rangers-Twins Preview

Yahoo has a pretty good preview of the 3 game series that starts today when Texas visits Minnesota. The Twins swept the Rangers at home earlier this season and the Rangers did their best to return the favor last week, winning 3 of 4 in Arlington. All the Rangers need to do is win 2 of 3 this weekend to split the season series. The Twins have won 13 of the last 16 at home so that will be tough to pull off.

The Twins played a nice 13 inning game with the Tigers last night. They used two of the three projected starters for the weekend series, so it is unclear exactly who will be starting for them. The Rangers will lead off with Derek Holland on Friday. He is taking Rich Harden's spot in the rotation.

This would be a nice time for Derek to get a stranglehold on a spot in the rotation. Beating Minnnesota would probably do that for Derek.

Let's go Rangers!

  1. Big series for both teams. Should be a fun one to watch.

I was down at Target Field for the extra inning affair last night with the Tigers.

  2. Winning 2 of 3 should NOT be that tough to pull off; the Twins' bullpen is depleted by injuries and overuse, as is their starting rotation. Their lineup is missing some of their LH power bats. This is currently a crippled ball team.

  3. Really hoping this series goes well. Texas needs the home field advantage going into the post-season.

  4. Still got a chance to get your 2 out of 3... But the odds are dwindling. (I'm looking at you, cincy-sippycup!)

Great game last night. The Twins seem to pluck guys out of nowhere from their farm system and they step up. I had to look through the collection when I got home from the game to see if I had a Matt Fox in the collection. Once again, Matt who? Must of been a thrill for him to get a standing ovation from the crowd when he was pulled.

On a side note, I'm sure all you Ranger guys are tearing up your Repko cards, which should only increase the value on mine. :)

    See you in the ALCS!
