Super Sweet Vintage

One of my favorite bloggers has a second blog that features some psychedelic vintage cards.

You know him as Night Owl and his second blog is an ongoing countdown of the 1975 Topps set. On Thursday he featured one of the best cards from that colorful set.

The 1975 Reggie Jackson is one of the few non-Rangers I have from this set. Looking over my entire collection, it has to be one of my favorite vintage cards. The shadow on his face, the great colors of the uniform, the batting practice swing for the fences....and the lurker, the creepy guy dressed all in black. I've wondered about him.

Thanks to this card, I'm able to put the Reggie as a Yankee days out of my mind. At least for a minute. Of course, Reggie is synonomous with the Yankees and I'll be looking at one of those cards tomorrow.

I don't know how anyone can manage two blogs and put out quality posts on both. I have trouble coming up with enough posts to do one blog, never mind the quality of the posts. By the way, I noticed Night Owl has 195 followers and only 54 of you are following the 1975 blog. What's wrong, is the 1975 set too groovy for ya? Get over there and start reliving the good old days.

  1. 1. NOC has been around longer than '75T(IFOM)

    2. Some people only like the current stuff. Yes, I know, I know, I'm baffled by that, too. But that's the way it is.

  2. The colors blend in quite nicely (between Reggie's uniform and the border). A nice, varied mix that isn't too over the top. Something that couldn't be said about the 1970's overall.

  3. I need an upgraded version of that Reggie. It's not a card you see people throwing around much.
