Nice to meet you Mr. Scott

Not long ago, Mr. Scott of Mr. Scott's Cards contacted me about making a trade. He didn't have a blog at that time, but who am I to discriminate? I got my start making numerous trades before I got the blog going so I thought I would return the favor. I've had these cards for a couple of weeks and now you get to see what I saw when I busted them open. By the way, these are the first scans....yes SCANS!!! from my new scanner. There are a couple that got a little cut off for some reason, but it is much easier than using the camera.

I'm not sure what Delmon is upset about on this 2009 Ballpark Collection dual swatch card. Maybe he's not happy about sharing a card with David Murphy. Either way, I'm happy to add it to my collection. (This card got cut off a little on the left side)

Here are a couple cards from a product I haven't purchased. I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on one of those $30 tins from Target or Wal-Mart. I'm glad to have the Rangers from 2009 Sweet Spot, but I don't think I'll have any other teams to trade.

Are there any blogges not beaten down by ToppsTown? Anyone.....? My son wants them all, I just want the Rangers and Gold is good anytime.
This is the first 2009 SP Authentic Gold Parallel in my collection. I've never even seen these and didn't pull any in the limited number of packs I opened. The fact that it is Josh Hamilton makes it all the better. As I said above, gold is good.
The same goes for this 2009 SP Authentic Copper parallel of Ian Kinsler. First one in the collection not to mention the first one I've seen. Can anyone tell me why copper is a lower print run than gold? Both of the SP Authentic cards got cut off on the right a little when I scanned them. Of course I didn't notice until I was ready to post so...

Poor Kevin Millwood. 2008 UDX "X"ed out his manhood. At least they covered it with an authentic piece of "memorabilia". Like a lot of people, I sometimes get immune to the jersey/pants/cap/wall/bat/jock strap/gatorade cooler relic. Ok, maybe I went too far. But I will always want any Rangers that fall into that overused category. Plus, when the Troll pulls a 1/1 Rangers World Series Gatorage Cooler Relic, he's going to send it to me. I won't hold my breath though!

Here is a nice bit of Ranger blue. This 2009 Upper Deck Series 2 Hank Blalock "materials" card has found a nice home in Texas. Unfortunately, UD made it look like it has more than one swatch, but it doesn't. Richard P. McWilliam is only congratulating me for the "M".

This is one of my favorite cards from the 2009 O-Pee-Chee set. I really love the Ballpark in Arlington. I don't care what kind of corporate logo/name they put on it because it will always be the Ballpark in Arlington to me. I went to the first 8 games ever in the Ballpark and will always remember some of the great games and moments I saw there. I can't believe this is going to be the 17th season for the Ballpark. I'm getting old. These few cards only represent a few of the cards Mr. Scott sent. There were about 150 Rangers in all!

Mr. Scott, thanks for the trade. If you're not following his blog, give it a shot!

  1. I got rid of most of my Topps Town cards, thank goodness... If you son seriously likes them I will include whatever I have left in your next pack...By the by, Mr Scott is a very generous trader!

  2. The thing I hate most about Topps Town is that it counts as a card, which is absurd. If it were "extra" I wouldn't care at all, but it makes a 10 card pack actually 9, because not a single person is actually buying packs looking for these.

  3. You are much better off with a random pack of Sweet spot from a hobby box. You have a decent shot of getting something other than a plain jersey. In fact for $30 you can almost get two hobby packs.

  4. That's one of the reasons why I haven't bought the tin. That and all the sorry tin breaks that other bloggers have posted.
